What's in my Handbag

So today I decided to do a post on what's in my handbag. Now I've seen lots of posts before from bloggers and their bags, and they always seem so tidy and organised. Well mine isn't!! While doing this I realised I have a slight obsession with a certain type of beauty product, try and see if you can guess what it is?! Lol

Right, firstly the bag!
I got this in January from Selfridges, on a little new years haul. I love using this bag for work, I can get so much crap.. I mean stuff in it, and it's really easy to find things because of the wide opening.

Look at the amount of stuff in it!!
My purse was a Christmas present from a work friend. Again great size to get all my cards and money in.

Here is some make up products. Rimmels scandal eyes mascara, rimmels exaggerate eyeliner, benefit cha cha tint, jelly pong pong lip and cheek frosting and L'Occitane hand cream.

Keys, takings from work, Ray Ban sunglasses ( possibly don't need them in this weather) 2 hair clips, a lighter and 50p in change.

My lipstick collection!! I didn't realise how many I had, God I could start up my own shop!
OK so from left to right is....
Helen e' lipliner  in shade 1 ( i think i got this in a beauty box), Max Factor lipstick in berry, Glam lipgloss in Bellini ( I have no idea where is came from), MUA lipsick in juicy, Revlon lipgloss in Coral Reef, Bourjois 3D effect gloss in Beige Elastic, Khroma lip gloss colour is in the nude, Elf Luscious liquid lipstick in Strawberry, Khroma lipstick and lipliner in in the nude, Elf lipstain and gloss in Mysterious, Elf lipstain and gloss in first date and lastly 2 Clinque chubby sticks in mega melon and pudgy peony. Wow!!

Three perfumes which are, Gucci Guilty, Hermes Des Merveilles and Elemis Eau De Perfum in Exotic. I always have a selection of perfumes in my bag, because i work close to the pulic i like to smell nice and like to change my perfumes on a day to day basis.

And there we go, a look into my handbag. Im glad i did this piece, i never really empty out my bag that often and now i need to decide whether i really need 13 lipsticks in my handbag?

whats in your handbag, have you got an obession that you never knew you had? Please tell me what you think in the comments below

Monthly Favourites March 2013

This is my first monthly favourites post, it contains make up items that I've been using regularly and think are just fab!

Real techniques Stippling and Blush brush.
I purchased these a week ago ( having being the only person in the planet without them!) and I now know what all the fuss was about!

Blusher Brush                                                   Stippling Brush
I normally use a sponge or my fingers to apply my foundation. I now use the stippling brush for foundation and contouring and the only word I can think of is WOW! The brush blends my foundation effortlessly as does the blusher brush. It's super soft and delivers just the right amount of product, my blusher goes on a like a dream. I can't believe I have been using inferior brushes for so long! I will definitely be purchasing some more brushes from the Real Techniques line.
Stippling brush £11.99 and Blush brush £9.99 from

Crown brushes conceal and contour pallet.

As you can see it is well used! ( prob should have cleaned it up!)
I have had this palette for months and use it nearly everyday. The product is creamy and blend-able. The lighter shades are great for covering imperfections and the darker are brilliant for contouring and defining. I used them with either a flat foundation brush or stippling brush.
£16.99 from

Daniel Sandler Radiant Sheen and Kabeauti Brush.
I received this for my birthday and have been using it ever since!

It's gives a lovely glow to the skin without making you look like Edward Cullen from the Twilight films. The colours can be used altogether or individually as eye shadows ( either wet or dry). The Kabeauti brush I use with it is super soft and delivers just the right amount of powder . I love using these two both together as the product doesn't cake on the skin and is dispersed evenly.

As you can see from the photo's below, its a very natural glow that  is brilliant  if you want to give your skin a quick boast on dull days. Love it!!
Radiant Sheen on both hands, without flash and with flash

Radiant Sheen £28.00, Kabeauti Brush £26.00 from

Nars Blush in Desire and Amour
Desire                                   Amour
This was another present for my birthday and having never tried any Nars products before I couldn't wait to get stuck in.

Amour swatch                       Desire swatch
I'm in love with "desire" the pinky soft blush, it look quite bright here but blends in lovely giving a gorgeous Rosy tint to the cheeks. It can be worn subtle or built up for a more dramatic night time look. My next purchase will be the much talked about Orgasm blush, with the subtle shimmer that will be great for spring summer.
Duo blush part or the Love Rite gift set -

Lipstick Queen in "The Hustle"

You can see the shimmer coming through.
I got this in a swap box from Nardine over at  along with other items. The box was fab, full of lovely beauty treats, and even doggy treats for Brian ( my dog).
I've seen this make a few times but never tried it. The colour is gorgeous, a nudey peach shade with a slight shimmer to it. It goes on really smoothly and is very hydrating. It's my must reached for lipstick this month.
                                        Natural light                                                         With Flash

The range can be found at starting from £15.00

Well there you go, my monthly favourites. Sorry their all make up related,  I have been trying out some new skin care products and haven't made my mind up about them yet. Hopefully I will soon and I'll let you know!

Thank you For Reading

Asda's Little Angels Nappies

This is a little different from my normal posts but i have reviewed Asda's Little Angel's* nappies and wanted to share my thoughts with you.
For any mum's out there you will understand my pain when paying for products that are a necessity and  end up in the bin hours after wearing them.
When my little boy (Archie) was born I knew nothing when it came to nappies, creams and wipes. Being uneducated with anything baby "like" I decided to go with the brands that I knew ,these being Pampers and Huggies. I ( like many new mothers ) thought these would be the best and supermarket own brands would be inferior. After trying Asda's own brand I found myself eating my own words.

When buying nappies I think the most important things are-

Adsa's little Angels have a super absorbent core that draws liquid away from your babies skin allowing the skin to remain dry and comfortable. I'm sure we have all faced nappy rash at one time or another and it's not nice. These nappies left Archie's little bum dry and held the liquid well without any leaks even at night time with 8-9 hours contant wear.

Obviously not being able to wear them myself it's hard to tell how comfortable they are. This being said I found them to fit lovely around Archie's legs and waist. The elasticated leg cuffs means he was left with no red marks or chaffing, which is one of the main causes for discomfort along with dryness.

I found these to be very absorbent and held up fantastically at night. Archie is in bed by 7 o'clock and his last nappy change is after his bath is at 6 o'clock. He normally wakes between 5.30-6-30 ( I know you all will feel my pain there!) . When he wakes there is no leakage at all, sometimes the nappy is so heavy it surprises me that it managed to stay on!

Flexibility and Fit.
With the elasticated cuffs and shaped core these nappies are very easy to walk, crawl and play in. I haven't noticed that they are hindering him in any way. The waist and legs are super stretchy and don't restrict him at all. They are in my opinion on par with branded market leaders.

Asda's little Angels are fantasic on price, cheaper than leading brands, with the same high quiality and standards.  Little angels (40 in a pack) are priced at £5.97 (+), Pampers Simply dry economy pack (44) are £7.00 (reduced from £8.49),(++) Huggies Super dry (44) £9.99 (+++).

Price's per nappy are of follows -
Asda Little Angels - 15p per nappy
Pampers -19p per nappy ( normal price) 16p per nappy, sale price.
Huggies -25p per nappy.

My experience with Little nappies is they are of the same high quality ( if not better) and less money than branded nappies. I would never go for a cheaper product that was going to be less effective when it came to caring for my little one. The only small complaint ( that could have to do with me more than the nappies) is that the pack was not very easy to open.

It seemed not to have a good perforated edge which  resulted in me having to tear them open, like i said it could have been me or a faulty pack. This being said would no way put me off buying them in the future.
Absorbency - 5/5
Comfort -5/5
Capacity -5/5
Flexiblity- 5/5
Price -5/5
Overall and would I buy them again - 5/5 and Yes!

Have you tried Asda's Little Angel nappies?
What are your thoughts on them? Do you think they are as good as leading branded nappies?

Glam Glow Super Mud Mask

Today I'm trying one of the world famous products from Glam Glow. Super mud is the sister product of Youth Mud which has been a worldwide seller and known to be the "home facial in a jar".
Super Mud is a clearing treatment clinically developed to help fight common skin concerns, such as....
-Visible pores
-Razor bumps
-In-grown hairs
-Black heads
and Break outs.

It contains Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Eucalyptus, Aloe Vera and Chamomile to name a few. Each ingredient is designed is help clear skin and improve texture as well as reducing fine lines and wrinkles! It really is a wonder product!

So does it work?

The mask is applied to clean skin in an even layer. It can be used for 5,10,15 or 20minutes. Once on the skin, dots will appear which is sebum being extracted from your skin (nice!).

The texture of the mud is light with fine grains found in it. When first applied the mud is a dark grey  colour and drys to a lighter grey . It goes on  really easyand drys fairly quickly leaving your skin feeling tight and hard to the touch. It didn't tingle or sting and felt quite refreshing on the face, it also  had a nice  minty fragrance.

You can see a few of the grains in the mask on my skin

Not long after leaving the mask, it turns a light grey colour and small dark dots start to appear. This is the oils being sucked out of your skin ( I found it quite satisfying it watch!).

Errrr look at all the oil coming out!!
The big lumps are the grains in the mask, not the oil in my face ( just wanted to add that!)
Me being me I left it for the full 20 minutes as I wanted to see the maximum results.

I removed the mask with warm water and a muslin cloth, and then rinsed it with cold water to remove any last traces of the mask and close up my pores. My skin was left feeling super clean, velvety smooth, brighter and fresher. I didn't feel that it dried it out at all, which sometimes I get with a face mask.

You can see my face looks less greasy and brighter in appearance
I think the  difference you see from one use is really good. In my opinion I think it does work, my skin is less oily, cleaner and my pores have been reduced slightly. I will definitely keep using this as a weekly facial treatment. A 30ml pot costs from £44.99 and  provides 17 full face applications or 1,000 spot treatments. If you think how much you would pay for a facial the price is pretty reasonable!  I like the fact that it can be used in as little as 5 minutes making it really easy to fit into your skincare routine and the super cute glamorous packaging  looks fab sitting in my bathroom!

I found the mask cheaper on Feel Unique at £39.99

Have you tried any of the Glam Glow masks, what are your thoughts on them?

Thank you for reading

What Beauty Junkies get for their birthdays!!

Hello all, I was my birthday on Friday and I just wanted to share a quick post with you about some of the beauty related gifts I received.

As you can see I was spoilt rotten by my family and friends.

Urban decay Naked 2 Palette.
I have been lusting over this palette for ages, ( i think I'm the only person in the blogging world yet to try this!) and was over the moon when I received it. I cant wait to try all the colours  and create some looks using them. At a quick glance i can see what all the fuss was about because the colours all look fab!
Nars Love Rite gift set.
I have never tried any products from Nars and this gift set is the perfect way to try out some of the most popular products. The pack contains Orgasm Illuminator, 2 lip glosses in Turkish delight and Greek holiday, and a duo blush in Desire and Amour.

Molton Brown Re-Charge Black Pepper body wash and Exfoliating body bar.
If you have read any of my other posts you will know that I love this stuff!! The smell is absolutely Divine, with spicy, woody and peppery notes. These are my favourite bath products out of the whole range just because of the smell of them.  I also got 2 samples which are Naran ji liquid hand wash and Patchouli and Saffron body wash.

Daniel Sandler Radiant sheen face powder and Kabeauti powder brush.
Again i have never used any products from the Daniel Sandler range and with having a quick swatch of the powder and feel of the brush i know I'm going to love trying these!

Lady Gaga Fame Black Fluid  EDT
This has been on my wish list for ages after trying a sample of it last year. Its not a scent I normally go for as its quite sickly sweet and i prefer more woody manly notes,  but with the addiction of  a musky undertone that dilutes it a bit it seems to work for me. In the gift box is 50mls of the perfume and matching shower gel.

I will be doing a full review of each product so please stay tuned!

What do you think to my pressies?
Is your birthday wish list similar to this?
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. :)

"We're on a break" Beauty Boxes and March's Glossy Box

I have been an avid beauty box subscriber for over a year and like many others I enjoy the anticipation of my box arriving. I have tried many brands Joliebox (which is now Birchbox), Glossy box, SheSaid beauty (which is now discontinued)  and Luxbox.

There are also many others out there including Amarya, All About Beauty and The Natural Box to name a few.
So what is it with our obsession with these boxes?
We all love trying out new things and the idea we will receive a wonder product that will transform our lives is just too good to be missed. I myself enjoy that Christmas feeling when you are handed a box by the postie, excited to know what is in it. Ripping the packaging open and delving into the shredded paper to find what new goodies I have been sent! Have i been a good girl this month and received the "good box " or am I on the naughty list with the dud box? I know I'm not the only one that feels this way, sometimes I'm left deflated as I search for the tiny samples and sachets among the endless bits of shredded paper that seem to get everywhere!
What should we really expect to receive in return for our £10 a month fee?
A lot of the companies promise to deliver us high end luxury or up and coming brands to try. Have we been getting this? Some of the time yes, I think we have. I have received some products that I know are worth a lot more than the box itself so I should be happy, shouldn't I ? Other times I get a box of products at are not catered for my skintype or tiny samples and viles of perfume that can easily be picked up from beauty counters. I have enjoyed trying out new products and hearing from brands that i never knew existed. However out of all the boxes from the past year there is only a few products that I have used on a day to day basis, them being .....

* Full size HD brows pallet from Glossy box priced at £19.99
* Wen Sweet Almond Cleansing Conditioner from Joliebox this was a sample size of 60ml (£3.10) which I later purchased the full size.
* DCH cleansing oil. 30 ml sample priced at £4.50. I received this in 2 different boxes, having used up one I'm now on the second and use it most days to remove eye and face make up.

Hmmm, and that's it!! 3 products! AND a draw full of samples that I'm yet to use.

This got me thinking,...
How much money have i spent to receive 3-4 products worth £32.09?
Like I said I have been getting these boxes for a year and i always get 2 different brands a month. The boxes cost £10 a month plus £2.95 p+p so that's a grand total of £310.80 !!! Minus the amount on products i used equals £278.81. I don't know about you but I find the  amount I've spent daunting, and im left feeling that that money could have been better off spent else where. This has left me with a dilemma, do end the love affair with my boxes or do I continue spending money on stuff that I won't use, hoping that I'll find one or two products that I will use? Easy answer I hear you all say, but I enjoy the postman knocking at my door and I know if I cancel I will miss out on a good box. I know this is what keeps a lot of us hooked on beauty boxes, missing out on a good box and seeing what others have got can get you racing to re-sub to the box in a heart beat. We all hate the feeling of being left out and missing out what could be a bargain! But for now I'm putting the relationship on hold,  I've fallen out of love with the boxes and feel that we need a break. Some companies (not all) are not fulfilling their part of the bargain and the money I save can be spent on something that I really want rather on something that I think i need.
So I end this post on my last glossy box review.
This months theme was "Get City Chick with Glossybox"

I think you can all agree I was on the nice girl list this month and had a really good box. I am missing one product from the photo which i gave away. It was a travel size Tresemme Hairspray.

Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream. I've heard lots about this iconic brand and product. The multi- tasking miracle balm that can be used a number of ways. This will be placed in my handbag straight away!

L'0cctiane Immortelle precious cream. This is a moisturiser that has been proven to reduce wrinkles for a younger smoother skin appearance.  I can't wait to see if it lives up to the hype!

Jelly pong pong lip blush. Lip crayons are really "in" at the moment and this came is a gorgeous pink, which is just the colour I love. So again this will be well used and a handbag staple.

Nails inc Bruton street, a well known brand in an easy to wear dusky pink colour. I'm happy to get this as you can never have enough polishes and this will be a great colour coming into spring.

Lastly a product that isn't in my box as I gave it away. Tresemme salon finishing hairspray. I'm not a big fan of the brand that started off in salons and then made its ways to the high street, but I'm sure lots of people will be happy to get this. Hairspray is something that most if us use all the time and comes in handy especially in the travel size that can be popped in your bag and ideal for travelling.

So there you have it, my last glossy box ( for a while anyway), I'm really pleased with the contents, a good mixture of products.
Do I really need any of them? Probably not.

Will I use them? Yes, but possible not for a while as I want to use up all the endless samples that I have accumulated.

I think this was a good box to end on as it's left me in high sprits and I hope for the rest of you that the boxes continue to be of this standard. If they do I will be kicking myself thou!
Thank you for reading and I apologise for the long post.

What are your thought on beauty boxes?

Are you an avid subscriber and enjoy the experience. Or like me are you on a "break", tired of getting poor boxes in return for your hard earned cash?

I would love to know what you guys think?
