Soleil Tan De Chanel Review

Hello!! I hope you all had a wonderful Bank Holiday and made the most of the gorgeous wheather we had.
As most of you will know, I purchased a few products recently from Debenhams in their 10% off sale. One of those products was Soleil Tan De Chanel.
This had been on my wish list for ages and I was really looking forward to testing it out and seeing if it warrants the £31 price tag.
With summer finally here what better time to give my skin a sunkissed healthy glow!
The bronzer is packaged in a frosted plastic pot ( I did think is was glass but is a little too light to be so) with black lid sporting the iconic Chanel logo. I think it's Ooober chic and stylish and exactly what you would expect from such a luxurious brand.

The best way to describe this product is a cream bronzer. The cream has an almost mouse like texture to it which is light and velvety, and scented with a light floral aroma. I must say that I found it strange using a make up product which was perfumed, but understand this is the norm with Chanel as they do like to scent their make up products. Once on your face the smell fades and is unnoticeable.

As motioned before the texture is very smooth and rich, making it easy to blend into the skin. It can be used over foundation or on its own to create a subtle sunkissed glow. The colour is very natural, resembling rich toffee with a warm undertones.

The colour pay off for me is a little disappointing. I like to use fake tan as I'm super pale without it, and found this to be a little too subtle for my liking. Paler skin tones will probably find this to be perfect, but for me it was a little too light.
The creamy texture changes once applied to a powder, making the finished result a matte look. The colour ( of which there was ) does last a fair amount of time without smudging or caking, but found it faded slightly on my cheeks. This could be because I tend to get oily throughout the day and the product melted off. I think drier skin types would really like this product but more oily skin types may find it hard to work with.

My overall impression of this is very disappointing, for me it's just too light and found myself thinking that applying the product was pointless. Don't get me wrong, the 30g of product would last ages, I've been using it everyday for 2 weeks and hardly made a dent in it. This just isn't right for me. Paler skin types, who find it hard to get a bronzer to look natural would really enjoy using this, and it does blend out like a dream, it's just a shame they don't do different colours. I really think "one colour suits all" does not work with this product. If it was darker I would love it, but I think in the mean time I will save this for winter when my skin is lighter and for now it will be another shopping spree to find one that will see me through summer.

If you have used this I would love to know if you felt the same, or is it just me?
