SkinCare Game Changers

You know that feeling when you find products that really work for you - a sense of satisfaction and sometimes relief that you've finally found a product that actually does what it supposed to do.
Well I have!  For me it has been these products - products that have not only reduced blemishes, but  changed the way my skin deals with stress and other factors that leave it looking dull and lifeless.

The first game changer which I have spoken about numerous times on my blog is the Alpha H Liquid Gold. This exfoliating treatment refines the skins surface by tacking pigmentation and uneven texture like blocked and enlarge pores. It also helps with fine lines and boasts the skins radiance by using Glycolic Acid to remove dead skin and pore blocking impurities.

Another product that fits in nicely with the Liquid Gold is the Pixi Glow Tonic. This is a much milder version which I use everyday when I'm not using the liquid gold. The exfoliating toner also contains Glycolic Acid which gently removes dead skin cells. This creates the perfect canvas for all my skin care products that I use afterwards as it lets them absorb fully (without the dead skin getting the way) and allow them to work to their full potential.

These two products are a must have for me as like I said they both ensure that my skin is in optimum condition for all my other skin care products. If the surface is covered in dead skin it's going to act like a barrier so no matter how good the products are they're not going to work, and I'm not going to see the results to there fullest.

These next two products are fairly new to me but have still delivered results that have completely changed my skin.

Avène Ystheal* is a retinol based moisturiser and my first dip into retinol based products. This has completely changed the way my skin deals with breakouts and stress.
The moisturiser is designed to be used at night and helps repair skin as you sleep. The retinol which derives from Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant that's protects against free radicals and collagen breakdown as well as increasing cell turnover - which in turn speeds up the recovery process when your skin to looking and feeling stressed out. It heals blemishes and nourishes dehydrated and dry skin by delivering moisture just where it needs it.

Since using this my skin is less oily - in fact I would go as far as saying my skin is edging more on the combination/normal side now, something I never thought would happen!

The next is the cult Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. This has been on the market for years and raved by thousands as the wonder product that helps with ageing by targeting fine lines and wrinkles, as well as maximising the power of skins nighttime renewal.

The light serum absorbs quickly into the skin leaving it feeling smooth with as almost velvet texture.  And just like the Ystheal cream it oomph's up the skins cell turnover by healing scars and reducing blemishes, as well as delivering much needed hydration and radiance to the skin.

My pores are smaller and my skin feels smooth - before my skin would feel lumpy and uneven and a far cry from smooth! Now it's like I have a different face, and I love it!

Since using all these products together my skin has changed. Before I was always conscious of my imperfections and used high coverage foundations to disguise them. But now I'm finding that apart from the odd scar ( from past blemishes) I'm happy to opt for a lighter coverage, and for the first time in years let my skin actually see the light of day without it being shielded under layers of foundation. These products have been a game changer as far as my skin is concerned and I can not recommend them enough if you're someone that suffers with the same problems I have.

Products Worth the Hype

Falling into the trap of buying over hyped products effects all us beauty addicts.  These products can truly be worthy of their high class status because they're great products, but sometimes the hype around them is due to the media blowing them up into the wonder product of the century, when is truth they can really fall short of our expectations

Splashing the cash on items that do absolutely nothing for you can be really disappointing - after all we all hate to waste money don't we? The products I've picked out today all perform some kind of trickery in the makeup and skincare world, delivering fantastic results that make them truly worthy of the hype that surrounds them!

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is one of my most repurchased items. The tiny wand is great at coating the bottom lashes without the fear of it transferring onto the skin. It's smudge proof, non flaky and defeater of panda eye syndrome.

Shu Uemura Eye Lash curlers. I thought all eyelash curlers were the same and the fact that same people spent nearly £20 on a pair quite frankly ridiculous. That was until I tried them. These curl the lashes with ease and hold the curl, something I found cheaper brands failed to do. They really do make the job of curling your lashes a breeze and when I say curl I mean curl!

YSL Fusion Ink foundation is easily my favourite foundation find from last year. The water like texture intrudged me and the silky soft almost velvet like matte finish sits perfectly on my oily/combination skin. It's barely undetectable on the skin, but covers imperfections and discolouration perfectly.

Zoeva Brushes rival Mac brushes easily in my opinion. They're soft and of great quality making makeup application a walk in the park. There's a great selection of brushes to choose from, with there being one for every job imaginable. And what makes them even better is the price. Brushes start from as little as £5, which considering the quality is a bargain!

Mac Pro-Long Wear Concealer is my go to concealer for the under eye. I know I am not alone with this one. Its been highly raved about by many a beauty guru and too rightly so. This is the only concealer I've found so far the delivers the coverage I want with minimal creasing and lasting the good part of the whole day. It's worthy of its holy grail status but if only MAC would change the packaging! Grrr.

Alpha H Liquid Gold is one of those products that I didn't actually think I needed, that was until I tried it. If you're looking for good skin days then this is the solution. The Glycolic overnight treatment refines, refreshes, and evens out the skins texture making you look more youthful with a healthy radiant glow. The Glycolic acid weakens the bonds in skin cells allowing the dead cells to be removed more quickly, thus  preventing pores from clogging and help pigmentation marks fade more rapidly. *Have you read my post on which exfoliator is best for you?*

Bobbi Brown Corrector (or what's left of it!). For those days when you need look like you've had a good nights sleep, when in fact you haven't. The corrector from Bobbi Brown is peach toned and designed to counteract the purple/blue shades under the eyes, and it's exactly what did does. The texture isn't as creamy as some concealers but this works in its favour by not creasing or settling into fine lines. I think it's a must have product for anyone that suffers with dark circles, or any new mums out there!

Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade/Brow Wiz. The introduction of these changed everyone brow game forever. The pomade creates the perfect brow by filling in and defining while staying put all day long. It also adds some texture to the brows, which is great if you weren't blessed with Cara Delevingne brows! The Brow Wiz is fine enough to create hair like strokes and makes filling in brows a quick and painless process.

Charlotte Tilbury lipliner in Pillow Talk. If you aren't blessed with Angela Joile's bee stung lips, and your own need a little enhancing this is the lip product for you. The shade is the perfect lip colour, meaning you can overdraw your lips slightly to give them a fuller appearance without looking like a clown. The texture adheres the to lips, staying in place and also making the perfect base for any nude lip colour.

What products are do you think are worth the hype? Are any of these on your list?
